The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Christos Lappas can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Helen Debenham
Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Chris. He was a a hard worker and friend to so many people at P&G. He always made time to chat and get to know you. He talked of his love for his sons, grandchildren and summer home in Greece with admiration. I missed him when he left the P&G building and will miss knowing that I won't see him again. God Bless you Chris.

Condolence From: Carmen Gheorghe
Condolence: I was friends with Chris for over 20 years. We both worked in the same building and sometimes had long conversations after hours. Just like the special and wise servant from the Bible Matthew 25:14-30, God gave him only one…talent...however he worked hard to wisely multiply it , in spite of health issues, to take care of his family he loved so much. Chris was the rare person who worked hard during the day and then went home and read. We had numerous debates about faith and he quoted from the Bible better that any pastor. From him I learned about Greece, family values, history, literature, his hard life as a child and yes about the mishap when coming home from his vacation in Greece he was stopped at the border and lost one suitcase full of cherished preserves, candy and plant medicine. It was Chris who told me to investigate other books than Kazantzakis’s Zorba and thanks to him I became acquainted with a different world. I regret that he did not have much time to enjoy his family and friends now, when he had could. Perhaps God, in His wisdom, needed him for another special task so He called Chris to Heaven. Rest in Peace my dear friend, you will be missed. However, you will continue living in the hearts of all those who crossed your path and benefited from your wisdom, generous help, advice and support.

Condolence: Such a shame to hear this news about Chris who I knew from working at 4711 Yonge Street. He was definitely a man with a great personality. Always had a smile and cheerful. He made life nicer every day for those that worked in that building.

Condolence: Chris was an inspiration to everyone who worked at 4711 Yonge St. and he made working in his building a little nicer for all. He greeted everyone with a smile. He had a tremendous sense of ownership for the building and he took pride in his work. He beamed at a well-shined floor. He was always happy to help anyone with a problem. I'm so grateful for having known him. My sincere condolences to his family.

Condolence: Thank you, Chris. For sharing your incredible stories with me, for making me laugh with your endless jokes (mostly of the the “not-safe-for-work” variety), for secretly delivering me homemade wine at the office, for your kindness and generosity, and for the joy and happiness you brought to so many of my days at P&G. I will truly never forget you.
