I shared some wonderful dinners with Auntie Mary while she lived in her apartment in Rosedale. I always looked forward to the laughs we would have, along with her large bottle of wine that she kept handy for such occasions :) My favourite Auntie Mary saying was "What in the name of Sam Hill?" - every time I hear that I think of her and laugh. Eternally grateful for Ann and her family for being such an important part of Mary's life. Much love and hugs, Joanne, Matthew, Florence and Winston

How much Mary meant to me for those years that I danced with the National Ballet! She was a constant! – a force, guide, collaborator and FRIEND! Indelibly etched, from the earliest years of the Company, and for all of my 25 - is the sound and sight of Mary at the piano - in the studio day in and day out. She was always there; a staunch, generous, tireless ally with her sage advice, hilarious quips, vivid memories, delivered with her Irish panache, peppered with the sparkle and energy that was quintessentially Mary Mc. Even in the toughest times, she could make us smile. She was the musical presence in all the TV films on the National Ballet for more than 35 years, and when I ventured into filmmaking, there was Mary, bringing to The Dancers’ Story – and Celia Franca – her vibrant playing, reminiscences, and musical wit.
I loved Mary Mc.! ~ Veronica Tennant

Mary was such a wonderful friend and companion to our late Mother Geraldine Crawford and to all of our family. Christmas parties were always more cheerful when Mary attended and played the piano whether asked to or not.

From the entire Hawkins (Jane and Al) and Maynard (Pat & Murray)families please accept our deepest condolences and prayers on this sad occasion. Mary was loved by All and will be missed by all.
